Recorded as a demo for Deborah Harry. "She asked whether we knew Bonnie and Clyde by Serge Gainsbourg and whether we could do something dark and brooding like that. So we went away and turned those influences into a track called Duke Duvet. The other track we did for her was called 'Deborah's French Feast'. Strangely that never ended up getting used anywhere, until now." (Bob Stanley 2010).
"I reckon we couldn't lyrically do justice to a title that promised so much. When we came across the tape I was hoping to hear Debsey recounting tales of gallic Bacchanalian orgies replete with Bunuel like symbolism, but alas no vocals. I'm surprised we didn't do anything with it though." (Pete Wiggs 2019).
