Okay...its been awhile since I updated the site....Saint Etienne have rumoured another fanclub CD will soon be available through the website and will be the soundtrack to their movie Mervyn Day. You can actually get a sneak peak at one of the songs off the soundtrack on their Myspace site. It is called Sugarhouse Lane and is a breezy instrumental.

Also Sarah Cracknell will sing a duet with Marc Almond (Soft Cell) called I Close My Eyes and Count to Ten (A Dusty Springfield cover) and will be available on Marc Almond's new CD called My Life. This is rumoured to be out at the end of this month however I didn't see any info on his website saying so and it isn't listed on HMV's site as of yet.

Oh yeah..one last thing..I will have added the Eclipse section in the Saint Etienne Produced Labels section of the site by the time you have read this.

There is a one-sided Cola Boy-7 Ways To Love 12 Inch making the rounds these days in the UK. It is remixed by some chap called Chadroy Dempsey. Seems to be an unofficial bootleg type of release. The details for this release have been added to the Cola Boy page in the Saint Etienne Side Projects section of this website

The band have remixed Herbie Mann's Yardbird Suite. The remix is termed the Under Sideways, Down Treatment by Saint Etienne. It can be found on the Savoy Jazz compilation Re-Bop The Savoy Mixes and is released in May.The details for this remix have been added to the remixes page of this website.

Saint Etienne have issued a fanclub only CD called Nice Price in limited quantity (3000). The CD is a collection of previously unreleased demos and alternate versions of well known Saint Etienne songs with suitably 'nice' artwork by Paul Kelly and 'Behind the Music' insights from Bob and Pete. To obtain the CD you must be a fanclub member and the CD can be purchased through the merchandise section of the official website. Savoy Jazz have issued a domestic single for Stars Above US in the USA. The single includes remixes by Eric Kupper and Jeff Barringer. The details for the new single have been added to the ep and singles page of this website.

If you haven't noticed yet, I've started to renovate the site and I'm making it bigger. More pictures. Maybe lyrics. More user friendly. This process will probably be a multi year project but the site will remain open and renovations will occur on a ongoing basis. I've started with the Singles/EP section. The new album Tales From The Turnpike House has been released in North America by Savoy Jazz. Details around the USA release which features a slightly different tracklisting can be found in the albums page of this website. The revised tracklisting includes 2 new songs named Oh My and Dream Lover.

The details for the new Gather In The Mushrooms 2: Early Morning Hush compilation compiled by Bob and scheduled to be released on March 20, 2006 by Castle Records in the UK have been added to the Writing/Production section of the site under CD Compiling and Liner Note Production.

Happy New Year 2006. Whats in Store from the Etienne crew in the new year? Well we have the North American release of Tales From The Turnpike House which will have 2 new songs originally not available on the UK version called Oh My and Dream Lover. I'm not quite sure what the chances are of a 3rd UK single release after the latest Sanctuary debacle which had the Etienne's Good Thing single ending up charting at number 70 in the UK. Bob has compiled a new CD called early morning hush and I'll post details as soon as possible. Saint Etienne is also on a mini USA tour(No Canadian date as of yet).

So it really does exist. The Saint Etienne track "There There My Brigadier" which was to be part of a Doctor Who compilation called Resistance is Futile: Doctor Who Remixed but was unfortunately never released. There was a very limited 3 track promotional release that was given to attendees at the 40th anniversary Doctor Who event in Nov 2003. To coincide with the release of the new album Tales from Turnpike House Sony Records is re-releasing Smash The System as a one CD compilation rather than a two CD set. I believe artwork and tracklisting will slightly change. Details to follow.

The band are putting together the first fan club cd that will actually be on sale for Lovers only. It's called Dirty Laundry and will include alternate takes and demos of much loved songs, some quite dramatically different to the finished versions.

First single Side Streets is out on June 6th: b sides are Murder In E Minor, You Can Judge A Book By The Cover, The Leyton Art Inferno and Got A Job. Tales From Turnpike House is out on June 13th.

On November 9th Subpop Records out of the USA issue a greatest hits collection called Travel Edition (1990-2005) (CD/2xLP). The collection includes two previously unreleased tracks (the early instrumental Primrose Hill and the new song Fascination).

The Trip is now available. The Trip, a mix CD, created by Saint Etienne includes swag from their bags over the last decade, from Chicago soul, TV chat show themes, rare psychedelia and a mish mash of everything in-between.The item has been added to CD Compiling and Liner Note Production By St Etienne section of the site
